Maintenance Tips for TivaWater 1.0
How can I clean the pre-filter cloth?
Clean the filter cloth at least once a month or when you can see a significant buildup of sediment/dirt on top of the cloth. To clean the filter cloth, first scoop all the water from the top of the filter cloth then pull out the filter cloth. With your hands, wash away the dirt on the filter cloth. Please do not use soap since it may be difficult to remove the smell of soap from your filter. Do not use any sharp edged tools like knives, spoons, forks, etc. The filter cloth may change color with use over time, due to quality of input water. However, change in color does not impact the ability to trap the smallest particles of sediment/dirt in the water. What if the water does not flow out of the TivaWater filter? a) First of all, check the pre-filter cloth for trapped air bubbles. This can be corrected by simply lifting a corner of the pre-filter cloth and “burping” the water bubble so it will release. b) Secondly, this may be caused by a significant buildup of sediment/dirt on the pre-filter cloth. Gently remove, clean and replace the filter cloth into its prior position to increase flow rate to normal. Do not use soap to clean the pre-filter cloth! c) If the problem persists, please call the TivaWater service center at 0414694679. If the tap is leaking, firmly hand tighten the nut inside the clean water storage container. Pour water into the filter daily for best results. If the filter is not used for over one week, recharge by flushing 20 liters of water at least 3 times. If the water level inside the inner compartment falls below the top of the sand, the clean water outlet tube has come loose from the side of the filter wall. Simply clip the tube back into the side of the filter wall. Be sure to remove all the water above the pre-filter cloth with a cup before lifting the inner bucket. As needed, use clean water from the filter to wash the clean water storage container. Remove all water above the pre-filter cloth with a cup before lifting the inner bucket. Do not use soap to clean the clean water storage container. |
